the government directives, said you to link your Aadhaar and PAN to your LIC (Life Insurance Corporation) policy(s) by Dec 31, 2017, mentioned on LIC website, India’s biggest life insurer.LIC has provided a facility by which customers can link Aadhaar with their policies online. IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) , the Insurance regulator had already clarified that ” linkage of Aadhaar number with insurance policies is mandatory ” and instructed insurers to complete the same. “The Authority clarifies that linkage of Aadhaar number to insurance policies is mandatory under the Prevention of Money Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2017,”

Steps to link policies with Aadhaar and PAN online:

Keep your Aadhaar Card and PAN card handy along with the list of policies.

Mobile Number as registered with UIDAI is to be entered. OTP will be sent to the number provided.
(In case your mobile number is not updated in Aadhaar, kindly contact nearby LIC Branch Office for Aadhaar Linking.) -
After submitting the form, a message will be shown on the success of the registration for linkage.

After verification with UIDAI, SMS / mail confirmation will be sent to you. The verification may take few days.

# After reading the checklist, click on the Proceed button at the bottom of the page.
After filling the details a message will be shown on the success of the registration for linkage. After verification with UIDAI or Unique Identification Authority of India, which issues Aadhaar card, an SMS/mail
confirmation will be sent to you, says LIC. The verification may take a few days, the insurer adds.
Other option / offline step to Steps to link policies with Aadhaar and PAN online:
# if Policyholder is unable to link policies with Aadhar and Pan online, then he can opt for the offline or manual process in which he/she simply needs to give a written mandate to a related branch to complete the process.

Supreme Court has extended date upto 31 March 2018 for Linking Aadhar Card with LIC Policy. This ruling came out as early as 10.45 AM on 14th Dec. Quite surprised LIC Web site at 15.00 Hrs on 18th Dec – that even after 3 days – shows mandatory last date as 31 Dec 2017. Can these people do not read news papers or see SC judgements?
